Docent and Teacher Workshops |
Museums are filled with stories, and visitors can access those
stories in many ways.
For school-aged visitors, the activity of engaging with an
artwork parallels and supports many of the strategies they use
in language arts, math, and social studies classes. Looking at a
picture and listening to a story have a lot in common.
In teacher workshops, museum outreach, and in-service programs,
I present a variety of ways educators can access the broad
potential of a museum visit.
In docent workshops, I offer various strategies - some practical,
some philosophical - on the nature of sharing a narrative with
an audience.
